Here is what we are about: AFRICAN AMERICAN INITIATIVE OF THE ARAPAHOE COUNTY DEMOCRATS MISSION STATEMENT The success of African Americans in politics and specifically those involved in the Democratic Party is a legacy that must be preserved. It is imperative that efforts to assure equity for African Americans in the Arapahoe County Democratic Party be strengthened. In alliance with politically concerned citizens of Arapahoe County, the African American Initiative of Colorado Democrats, and the Arapahoe County Democratic Party; the African American Initiative of Arapahoe County Democrats was created to be the political "voice" and vehicle for African Americans within the Arapahoe County Democratic Party. OBJECTIVES Promote increased African American membership and participation in the Arapahoe County Democratic Party Advocate, promote and represent political issues that affects the quality of life of African Americans Educate African Americans in regard to the protocol, procedures, and the organizational structure of the Arapahoe County Democratic Party Promote and facilitate African American visibility, access, and leverage in the Arapahoe County Democratic Party Establish a means of recruitment, mentoring and training in order to foster African American political leadership potential
